What our staff say
Luke
Motorcycle Technician
My love of bikes started in my teens and I was delighted when my application to become an Apprentice Technician was accepted by the company in August 2002. There is a good team spirit within the workshops and I have enjoyed the variety of work during my first 2 years My mentor within the department guides me on a day to day basis and helps me with the preparation of my college portfolio, which has been very challenging. Being part of the Motocross team has been very exciting and I race a couple of times a month. I look forward to completing my 3 year apprenticeship and using my skills and knowledge to the best of my ability in the future.
Sue
Sales Administration Supervisor
"In 1982 I joined Fowlers as a Clerk/Typist in the admin office. By the time I left to have my first child in 1989 I had been promoted to office supervisor and PA to the Directors. I returned in 1990 and worked part-time until 1993 when I left to have my second daughter. I returned again in 1994 and have gradually been able to increase my hours and take on more responsibility as my children have grown up. Working for Fowlers is a good experience. We have a good, friendly team and the flexibility has allowed me to progress my career while bringing up a family."
Barry
Workshop Pre-Sales Supervisor
"I first joined Fowlers in 1984 as a parts person before moving into the workshop environment. Since that time I have worked in many areas including running the Fowlers Motocross Team for 10 years from 1988 and also the Road Racing Team from 1994 to 1998. I also ran the Fowlers Riders Club for a time. In my time at Fowlers I have gained valuable experience and professional knowledge, eventually becoming Supervisor of our pre-sales department. This gives me a real sense of achievement and satisfaction and also an appreciation of all the hard work put in, both from the company and myself."
Jane
PA to the Directors and Customer
Care Coordinator
"I joined Fowlers in June 2003 after a brief spell
of child minding, which I quickly discovered wasn’t for me! It was
great to get back to my original career path of working in an office, although,
compared to my previous roles, this isn’t your typical ‘office
environment’, which suits me just fine. An excellent benefit of working
at Fowlers is the variety and opportunity. No two days are the same and I’m
lucky enough to be working closely with people in many different disciplines,
e.g. technicians, sales people, drivers, designers, call centre staff and
so on - it’s really expanding my horizons. After having had time to
get to grips with my role as P.A., an opportunity arose to take on the additional
role of Customer Care, which enabled me to get to know our customers and
gain a much better knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the business.
I returned to my role on a part-time basis in July 2005, after having taken
a year out on maternity leave. It is great that Fowlers have been able to
accommodate me part-time and have been able to help me achieve that all important
balance between being a mum and still having a career!"
